MANCHESTER, England, March 9, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --
EDM, a leading global provider of training simulators to the civil aviation and defence sectors, announced today that it has invested in a state-of-the-art CNC machine to further enhance its manufacturing processes.
The particular model that EDM has purchased is the Quickturn Nexus 250-II MSY made by Mazak. It is being utilized alongside the existing high performance tooling equipment already in operation at the company's manufacturing facility in Manchester. The new machine will enable the company to design and manufacture components of any complexity for use in its market-leading training simulators for airline and defence clients. EDM expects significant long-term productivity and cost efficiencies to result from the purchase of the machine.
"An equipment investment of this magnitude further demonstrates our commitment to producing the finest and most robust training simulators on the market," said Tony Bermingham, Managing Director of EDM. "As we expand our global footprint we will continue to make substantial investments in the best tools, facilities and people to further strengthen our industry-leading position."
