CGI (NYSE: GIB) (TSX: GIB.A) has been selected by efluid, a subsidiary of French energy supplier Groupe UEM, to participate in the maintenance of the company's client management and billing software package, also called efluid, which is dedicated to the utilities market. The contract with CGI has been renewed for 15 years.
Co-developed by Groupe UEM and CGI in 2002, efluid allows public services organizations to manage all of their electricity, gas, urban heating, water, purification, public lighting, Internet and cable television distribution and supply activities. It covers the acquisition and management of meter data, billing and collections, as well as materials management and intervention planning.
To date, 41 companies in France, including Groupe EDF, have adopted efluid for the management of technical installations and the support of more than two million end clients.
"The signing of this long-term contract serves to consolidate the partnership established with CGI in 2002," said Francis Grosmangin, President of efluid.
"CGI has been partnering with Groupe UEM and efluid for more than 12 years," added Jean-Michel Baticle, President of CGI for the France, Luxembourg and Morocco regions. "This renewal, which makes CGI the sole integrator for efluid, is reflective of the long-term partnerships that our company is committed to developing with clients. It also testifies to CGI's competencies in the public services sector."
