Elsevier / Gold Standard's Kay Morgan Awarded NCPCP Highest Honor
TAMPA, Florida, May 17, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
Morgan honored with The TIME Award for lifetime contributions to NCPDP
The National Council for Prescription Drug Programs (NCPDP), a not-for-profit standards organization with more than 1,500 members throughout the pharmacy services industry, awarded Kay Morgan, Senior Vice President of Drug Products and Industry Standards Research and Compliance for Elsevier / Gold Standard, with its highest honor, The TIME Award, last week at its annual conference in Phoenix. Elsevier / Gold Standard is a leading drug information and drug decision support provider.
NCPDP established The TIME (The Individual Member Excellence) Award in 1990. It honors an NCPDP member for unselfish devotion toward meeting the goals and objectives of the organization. For the past 35 years, NCPDP has brought together all parts of the industry - payers, providers and suppliers - to develop business solutions and guidance for promoting information exchanges related to medications, supplies, and services within the healthcare system, to improve safety, privacy and healthcare outcomes for patients, while reducing costs in the system.
The NCPDP Conference Daily quoted from Kay's TIME nomination: "Kay is consistently and energetically involved in the activities of NCPDP and is an available resource for members to understand, influence and comply with the standards represented by the Council. This membership segment has brought new perspectives to the organization as we continue to address industry challenges. Kay has also represented pharmacy and NCPDP concerns in her interactions with the FDA and others as the groups work together toward industry solutions."
