Elsevier Announces Enhancements to the Pure Experts Portal
AMSTERDAM, September 3, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --
New version of the Pure Experts Portal helps scholarly institutions to better showcase their research strengths and secure funding and collaboration partners
Elsevier, a world-leading provider of scientific, technical and medical information products and services, today announced the launch of a new version of the Pure Experts Portal, its leading research information management system, and part of the Elsevier Research Intelligence portfolio of integrated tools and services.
The Pure Experts Portal is an easy-to-use analytical web-based tool that enables universities, corporate research facilities and other scholarly institutions to publically showcase research strengths and find collaborators through prepopulated researcher profiles. Based on the Elsevier Fingerprint Engine™ technology and Scopus data, research institutions can demonstrate their researchers' expertise and accomplishments to attract potential collaborators and funding. Additionally, the Pure Experts Portal gives researchers a way to search for potential co-authors for academic papers, which is important because multi-author papers often have a greater impact.
Enhancements made to the Pure Experts Portal are:
- Improved portal design and navigation.
- Presentation of additional research metrics and counts, giving the ability for administrators to dive into the data to get more insights.
- The new portal has a responsive design so it can be used across multiple devices and is Search Engine Optimized to enhance discoverability.
"The globalization of research means that having a strong collaboration network is a key to success, both in terms of funding and research partners. Since the launch of the Pure Experts Portal over a year ago, dozens of institutions from around the globe have used the tool as way to highlight research strengths in a way that is easily discoverable on the open web," said Thomas Jorgensen, Director Product Management at Elsevier. "We continue to work closely with our users to ensure the portal's functionality remains highly intuitive, with improved usability reflected by these recent enhancements."
