Elsevier Announces Publishing Agreement with the National Association of Postgraduate Centers of Economics, Brazil
AMSTERDAM, June 24, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
First journal in Latin America to be published through Elsevier's Production & Hosting Program
Elsevier, a world-leading provider of scientific, technical and medical information products and services, today announced its publishing agreement with the National Association of Postgraduate Centers of Economics (ANPEC) in Brazil. Starting in September 2013, Elsevier will publish EconomiA, ANPEC's official academy journal. The journal will be published and hosted as an open access journal on ScienceDirect, the world's largest repository of scientific, full text information.
EconomiA is the first journal in Latin America to be published through Elsevier's Production & Hosting (P&H) program. This publishing solution supports society, university, academy or government owned journals by lifting them into an international standard of publishing quality and increasing global influence through inclusion in scholarly information tools and resources such as ScienceDirect. These benefits are applicable whilst editorial control of publications and ownership of the journal remains with the society or university.
"Sponsored by the National Association of Postgraduate Centers of Economics, EconomiA is the academy's primary journal. Its main focus is to publish sound research irrespective of differences in paradigms," said Joaquim Pinto de Andrade, Editor-in-Chief of EconomiA. "With Elsevier's support EconomiA will become one of the first Brazilian journals in the field of economics with an international focus and reach. I hope it will help to open the academy up to the rest of the world, with a larger circulation and amelioration of its research."
"Elsevier's Production & Hosting program is dedicated to making regional research content accessible on a global scale. We are honored and very pleased to add EconomiA to the program," said Bernard Aleva, Senior Vice President of the Innovation & Publishing Development Department at Elsevier.
