Elsevier Announces the Inclusion of a Simplified Chinese User Interface to Scopus
AMSTERDAM, June 23, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
Elsevier, a world-leading provider of scientific, technical and medical information products and services, today announced the launch of a Simplified Chinese user interface to Scopus, the largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature. The interface enables Chinese users to search and discover scientific literature in their local language.
In addition to the localized interface, all Scopus help files have been translated into Simplified Chinese to ease product understanding amongst users. Customers in mainland China are now able to find the research information they are looking for more efficiently and to expand beyond Scopus' basic search functionalities to utilize more advanced features such as alerts, the Journal Analyzer and the Analyze Results functionality. For librarians in China, the localized interface will improve both their ability to train users on Scopus and the usability of Scopus.
Cameron Ross, Vice President of Product Management for Scopus and Engineering Village at Elsevier, said, "With a wide range of global content coverage and functionality, Scopus has become one of the most popular abstract and citation databases amongst researchers. We are delighted to be able to further meet the needs of our Chinese customers and users with the launch of the Simplified Chinese user interface."
Christopher Yeow Tze Yian, Elsevier's Science & Technology Research Solutions Sales Director for China mainland, Hong Kong and Macao, said, "This local-language interface will help our Chinese users accelerate the pace of their research, conduct analysis and determine their research strategy in a more efficient and effective way. Similarly, the Simplified Chinese interface supports researchers to efficiently gain information critical to developing their academic careers.
