Elsevier Announces the Launch of a New Journal: Big Data Research

Elsevier, a world-leading provider of scientific, technical and medical information products and services, today announced the launch of a new journal: Big Data Research. The first issue is now available for free on ScienceDirect.
Big Data Research was recently launched at the IEEE International Conference on big data in Washington DC. The journal provides a channel for scholarly communication and applications in this broadening and rapidly evolving field of research. It brings together research from the many different communities working on and with big data and it will include both original research papers and review papers covering e.g. developments in big data science.
The journal will be led by renowned experts on data science. Its co-Editors-in-Chief are Beng Chin Ooi, distinguished Professor of Computer Science at the National University of Singapore, and Zhaohui Wu, Executive Vice-President of Zhejiang University and Director of the Institute of Computer System and Architecture. The journal's leadership team is completed by five Associate Editors.
Co-Editor-in-Chief, Beng Chin Ooi, said, "Big data techniques and data science heavily influence how we conduct research across various domains in this newly emerging field. Big data research depends on interdisciplinary study and practice that can help data science gain a competitive edge.
