Elsevier Announces the Launch of Journal: Clinical Neurophysiology Practice
OXFORD, England, May 24, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --
Open Access Journal Focusing on Clinical Practice and Education in Clinical Neurophysiology
Elsevier, a world-leading provider of scientific, technical and medical information products and services, today announced the launch of Clinical Neurophysiology Practice, an open access journal that focuses on clinical practice issues in clinical neurophysiology. The journal will cover latest research, case reports, clinical series, normal values and didactic reviews. It is an official journal of the International Federation of Clinical Neurophysiology and complementsClinical Neurophysiology.
Clinical Neurophysiology Practice will support established clinical practice and will educate trainees, technicians and practitioners. It will provide a vehicle for extended case reports and a forum for discussion of clinical practice. Furthermore, the journal will include papers that do not immediately fall within the research priorities of clinical neurophysiology. These include, for example, normative studies, good studies that are largely confirmatory and technical and methodological studies.
The journal will be under the professional leadership of Editor-in-Chief, Professor David Burke, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and University of Sydney, Australia, and associate editors, Dr. Susan Herman, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) and Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA, and Dr. Josep Valls-Solé, Hospital Clinic 1 Provincial de Barcelona, Spain.
Discussing the new journal, Professor Burke commented: "It is very exciting to be involved with a journal that focuses on clinical practice and education rather than fundamental research. Practitioners need to establish the safety and value of procedures, collect normative data and make sure their results are replicable by other clinical researchers - an area where Clinical Neurophysiology Practice will complement Clinical Neurophysiology. We welcome papers addressing good clinical audit. The education of clinical neurophysiology trainees and the maintenance of standards of practitioners are critical issues for the specialty, and these issues will find a home in Clinical Neurophysiology Practice."
"We are delighted to announce the launch of this new journal in collaboration with the International Federation of Clinical Neurophysiology," said Peter Bakker, Executive Publisher, Neurology at Elsevier, "We encourage submissions from clinical neurophysiology technologists, especially for the new Technical Tips section, which will share new developments, procedures and protocols, designs, and newly released devices. Authors and readers will also benefit from various features that Clinical Neurophysiology Practice has to offer, such as embedded videos accompanying articles."
