Elsevier Announces the Launch of Open Access Journal: Journal of Vascular Surgery Cases
NEW YORK, December 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
Elsevier, a world-leading provider of scientific, technical, and medical information products and services, announced today the launch of Journal of Vascular Surgery Cases, a new open access, online-only journal dedicated to publishing peer-reviewed, high quality case reports related to all aspects of arterial, venous, and lymphatic diseases, including the placement and maintenance of arterio-venous dialysis access, with an emphasis on the practicing clinician.
Published by Elsevier on behalf of the Society for Vascular Surgery, the journal seeks to provide novel and timely information to vascular surgeons, interventionalists, phlebologists, wound care specialists, and allied health professionals involved in the management of patients with the entire spectrum vascular disease.
Editors Dr. Anton Sidawy and Dr. Bruce Perler explained, "We are excited that with the launch of Journal of Vascular Surgery Cases we will be able to expand the number of case reports that we publish for the benefit of our readership. At the same time, this new open access journal will allow authors who want to publish their important clinical observations under the banner of the highly respected Journal of Vascular Surgery, but may not have sufficiently sizable clinical series to publish as full clinical reports. We are pleased to work with Elsevier to provide this option as a new forum to researchers and surgeons in the field."
Elizabeth Perill, Executive Publisher at Elsevier said, "We see wonderful opportunities to better serve the vascular surgery community by publishing this new case reports journal in close collaboration with the Society."
