Elsevier Collaborates with Russian Universities to Advance Their Research Impact
MOSCOW, March 3, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --
Universities to benefit from access to Elsevier's Pure
Elsevier, a world-leading provider of scientific, technical and medical information products and services, today announced that it will collaborate with five Russian universities, providing these institutions with access to Pure, a comprehensive research information management, networking and expertise discovery system.
Saint Petersburg State University, Ural Federal University, Tomsk Polytechnic University, Far Eastern Federal University, and Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University have selected Pure to enable evidence-based decisions, promote collaboration, simplify administration and optimize impact.
"Saint Petersburg State University benefits from the unique archive of Elsevier's content and holds the largest subscription to its digital solutions among the leading universities of Russia," commented Nikolay Kropachev, rector of Saint Petersburg State University. "Our longstanding collaboration has enabled us to experience the high quality of Elsevier's services. This, combined with the increasing importance of Elsevier's Scopus database for bibliometric evaluations of research institutes, is why we chose to collaborate further with Elsevier by starting to use Pure."
Scott Rutherford, Director, Research and Enterprise, Queen's University Belfast, said: "A key part of Queen's University Belfast's (QUB) performance improvement over the past five years has been the development of a focused research strategy underpinned and supported by high quality research information. The implementation of the Pure system at QUB has been pivotal in integrating fragmented sources of information, in building a rounded picture of research performance and in supplying decision makers with timely information. With access to Pure, Russian universities will be able to target improvements in their research output, increase international visibility of their researchers and facilitate collaboration."
