Elsevier Launches New, Improved HESI Review and Testing Solution
The next generation of HESI provides actionable insights for improved student outcomes
ST. LOUIS, September 18, 2017 /PRNewswire/ --
Elsevier, the information analytics business specializing in science and health, has launched a new, more powerful and intuitive version of the HESI assessment platform. This new solution from Elsevier will help nursing schools and educators analyze and improve student performance from admission to graduation.
The next generation of HESI, the only testing product on the market based on peer-reviewed research in leading journals, supports secure, standardized exams that can be administered on devices in a variety of settings, including classrooms, testing centers or any location with an Internet connection.
"With this launch, we are combining the leading assessment capabilities of HESI with a powerful data analytics and visualization platform designed to enhance faculty workflow and personalize communication with students through their curriculum and while preparing for licensure exams like the NCLEX," said Scott Smith, President of Education, Elsevier. "HESI now more effectively provides faculty with valuable data and convenient tools to assess student understanding of key concepts and effectively reinforce student retention of core content."
Features of the next generation of HESI include:
- Mobile-friendly exam delivery, remediation and reporting;
- Advanced data and analytics with insightful dashboards;
- Streamlined interface that is simple and intuitive to use; and
- Personalized remediation unique to each student.
"The ability for HESI to provide such targeted feedback and remediation to students as they learn is essential. Faculty can now have an increased level of trust and confidence that with HESI their students have the best opportunity to learn nursing content and be prepared to retrieve knowledge as and when needed," said Barb Schreiner, PhD, APRN, CPLP, CDE, BC-ADM, Sr. Director Assessment Content, Curriculum, and Research, Elsevier, and a leading voice in nurse education. "In my time as an educator, I have not seen a learning and assessment solution this powerful, or one tuned to address both faculty and student needs. Faculty will have actionable and targeted insight that can elevate student performance, improve outcomes and position individuals to enter the nursing profession successfully."
The HESI test preparation suite, the most trusted by nursing educators, includes HESI Patient Reviews, HESI Case Studies and HESI Practice Tests. Available supplemental resources include Elsevier Adaptive Quizzing, Drug Calculations Online, Pharmacology Online and Clinical Skills.
In addition to the HESI exams and test preparation suite, the next generation of HESI also includes several, new features that optimize how remediation is determined, consumed, and measured:
- Knowledge Checks to assess student achievement and needs progressively and generate the most personalized and targeted remediation experience possible;
- Mobile-friendly and alternative forms of remediation (i.e. textbook, video, quizzes) content that empower a student to study and learn when, where, and how they want;
- Interactive Dashboards updated in virtually real-time allowing faculty to more closely monitor and react to student progress and performance on exams and remediation; and
- Customize delivery of remediation to target students more effectively based on their exam and performance.
