Elsevier Launches New Journal: Discourse, Context and Media
OXFORD, England, August 13, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
An international journal dedicated to exploring the full range of contemporary discourse work
Elsevier, a world-leading provider of scientific, technical and medical information products and services, is pleased to announce the launch of a new quarterly journal, Discourse, Context and Media.
Discourse, Context and Media provides an innovative forum to present research that addresses all forms of discourse theory, data and methods - from detailed linguistic or interactional analyses to wider studies of representation, knowledge and ideology. The journal seeks empirical contributions as well as papers that address the theoretical and methodological debates within discourse studies and is especially interested in contributions that make use of innovative methods and media for the analysis and presentation of data.
Editor-in-Chief Professor Greg Myers of Lancaster University, UK said, "With radical changes taking place in both traditional and new media, and new approaches being developed in discourse analysis, the time is ripe for an interdisciplinary journal at the intersection between discourse and communications media."
Christopher Tancock, Publisher at Elsevier added, "Discourse, Context & Media will complement Elsevier's leading linguistics portfolio by delivering a useful and timely insight into the workings of language and discourse within 'new media'."
The first issue of Discourse, Context and Media is now freely available to view online on ScienceDirect. For more information go to: http://www.elsevier.com/locate/dcm.
