Elsevier to Launch "Superheroes of Nursing" Contest During Nurses Week 2011
- Nationwide Contest to Identify Real Superheroes of Nursing; Winners Announced at 13th Annual Magnet Conference, Oct. 4-6
ATLANTA, Georgia, May 9, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Elsevier, a world-leading publisher of scientific, technical and medical information products and services, announced today the launch of the Mosby's Nursing Suite "Superheroes of Nursing" contest, aimed to search for and identify the real-life superheroes in the nursing profession. Mosby's Nursing Suite is a market leading online nursing solution in use at more than 1,300 healthcare organizations.
The contest, which launches during Nurses Week 2011 (May 6-12), is part of a nationwide campaign to recognize nurses who represent four key categories - The Validators, The Achievers, The Educators and The Protectors - and identify how they address the issues their institutions face daily (for more information on these categories, visit mosbysheroes.com [https://www.facebook.com/MosbysNursingSuite?sk=app_116824945065054]). Through Mosby's Nursing Suite, four powerful online nursing resources that provide education, reference, research tools and support at the point of care, the campaign will feature content illustrating how the utilization of the solution has an impact on creating a real-life nurse superhero.
"We want to show our appreciation for the nurses who battle for their patients and institutions on a daily basis, those with true superhero qualities," said Barbara Nelson Cullen, Vice President, Strategy and Content Development for Elsevier. "Nurses face a myriad of challenges in their every day jobs, and we hope this contest provides an opportunity for them to be recognized and to share their story-the ups, the downs, and everything in between."
Starting May 6, nurses will be able to nominate their co-workers or themselves utilizing videos, photos or essays through Mosby's Nursing Suite's Facebook ( https://www.facebook.com/MosbysNursingSuite?sk=app_116824945065054) page. From May through August, a key issue will be featured, defining the submission topic for each month. The Elsevier team will narrow down the nominations to a select few whose submissions best represent one of the key four categories; the winner will be chosen from the select pool by the fans on Facebook. Winners will be announced at the Elsevier booth during the 2011 American Nurses Credentialing Center Magnet Conference ( http://www.nursecredentialing.org/Magnet/MagnetEvents/Magnet-Events-List/Nati onalMagnetConference.aspx), Baltimore, Md., Oct. 4-6.
