Elsevier to Market Innovative Patient Data Collection Platform from Tonic Health
PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania, September 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
Elsevier Clinical Solutions, in collaboration with Tonic, will help further develop the platform with its high quality medical content
Elsevier, a world-leading provider of scientific, technical and medical information products and services, has agreed exclusively to market and help further develop Tonic Health's simple, fun and intuitive patient data collection platform.
Using its deep experience serving the healthcare provider market, Elsevier will employ its sales force to offer Tonic's highly engaging, tablet- and web-based, EHR-integrated data collection platform for patients. The solution includes a powerful, easy-to-use survey builder that allows providers to create, manage and edit all surveys, forms and questionnaires across their enterprise. Healthcare providers use these fully customizable tools to analyze and act upon the results in real time.
"As we sought to collaborate with an experienced player in the healthcare market, we found that Elsevier has the right combination of reach, reputation and content that will help Tonic thrive," said Sterling Lanier, CEO and co-founder of Tonic Health. "We're looking forward to further developing our platform with Elsevier and bringing Tonic to more and more hospitals and health systems."
Used by many leading health systems such as Partners HealthCare, New York-Presbyterian and UCLA Health, Tonic's intuitive user interface and broad functionality engages patients and optimizes patient data collection across in- and out-patient settings and for an array of provider needs, including patient intake, real-time patient screening and risk assessments, patient satisfaction, patient education and patient-reported outcomes. As U.S. health systems become increasingly accountable for patient outcomes beyond the hospital setting, the need for tools that enable providers to capture accurate patient information is critical. Tonic enables providers to collect more accurate information from patients and use it to make better care decisions that improve outcomes and reduce costs.
"We are very excited about our collaboration with Tonic because it will help our customers engage directly with patients and make collecting important data less of a chore for patients," said Jay Katzen, President, Elsevier Clinical Solutions. "Tonic will help us broaden and deepen our relationships with the hospitals and health systems we currently serve through its revolutionary approach to user experience that will foster and enhance relationships with patients."
Tonic's patient data collection platform complements the Elsevier Clinical Solutions suite, particularly its patient engagement solutions, including ExitCare. The combination of Tonic and ExitCare ensure that providers and patients have the information they need to deliver and manage patient health both in and outside the hospital. The Elsevier Clinical Solutions suite also includes a portfolio of solutions for workflow and decision support, clinical reference and drug reference, and performance management.
Tonic was founded collaboratively by a consumer marketing expert and a technologist with deep experience in user interface design, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), mobile and Web applications to solve the difficult challenge of gathering accurate and actionable patient-reported data. The result was the pairing of a simple, intuitive and entertaining interface with robust real-time analytics and CRM capabilities. Simply put, patients provide better, more meaningful information because the Tonic solution is easy and fun to use. This allows providers to gather more and more accurate data from patients with the goal of providing better, more personalized care at a lower cost.
