PHILADELPHIA, February 5, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --
Acclaim from the American Publishers Awards for Professional and Scholarly Excellence
Elsevier, a world-leading provider of scientific, technical and medical information products and services, today announced that it has won top honors in eight 2016 PROSE Awards categories, including a PROSE Award for Excellence, and nine honorable mentions.
The 40th annual PROSE Awards - the American Publishers Awards for Professional and Scholarly Excellence - were presented at the Association of American Publisher's Professional and Scholarly Publishing Division Annual Conference in Washington, DC. PROSE honors the best in professional and scholarly publishing, as judged by peer publishers, librarians, academics and medical professionals.
"Once again, Elsevier has demonstrated its excellence in creating some of the best scientific, medical and technology content," said Linda Belfus, Senior Vice President for Content, Elsevier Clinical Solutions. "Elsevier's selection as a recipient in eight categories underscores its continued commitment to providing the kind of trusted content the industry has relied on for generations. Our congratulations to all the Elsevier authors on winning this prestigious award."
This year's PROSE Awards competition attracted hundreds of entries of books, reference works, journals and electronic products in more than 54 categories.
"We set out to publish content that fills the knowledge gaps for researchers, scientists, engineers and students," said Suzanne BeDell, Managing Director, Science and Technology Books, Elsevier. "We applaud our authors for creating excellent content that accomplishes that goal and is judged as outstanding by the publishing industry."
