Elsevier's New ECC Webcasts Platform Provides Free Access to Webcasts of the European Cancer Congress
AMSTERDAM, January 21, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --
The ECC Webcasts platform features webcasts from a selection of satellite symposia
A new online platform gives healthcare professionals free access to a selection of lectures from Europe's biggest cancer conference, providing them with the latest research on a variety of cancers and treatments.
The ECC Webcasts platform (eccwebcasts.ejcancer.com), run by Elsevier and hosted by the European Journal of Cancer (EJC), features webcasts of some of the ECCO ESMO Industry Sponsored Satellite Symposia.
The European Cancer Congress (ECC2015), held in Vienna on 25-29 September 2015, was the largest European platform for presenting ground-breaking data to a global audience.
More than 19,000 oncology professionals attended the conference, which was split into 25 tracks and featured 634 invited speakers. 46 satellite symposia covered a variety of therapy areas, from therapeutic considerations in advanced renal cell carcinoma to targeting hypoxia to unlock new therapeutic opportunities for solid tumors.
The ECC Webcasts platform presents talks from a selection of these symposia as webcasts, so if a healthcare professional was unable to attend ECC2015, they can access some of the content online, free of charge.
"Healthcare professionals need to stay up-to-date with the latest research, but it's not always possible for them to attend conferences, especially if they are far away," said Giancarlo Pazzanese, project manager at Elsevier.
Each video is synchronized with the presenter's slides, which viewers can download. The transcript of each lecture is also available. The content is fully interactive: clicking on any slide will skip the viewer to the corresponding point in the lecture.
It is also possible to search across all webcasts - the content is multi-therapy, so healthcare professionals can search for their area of interest in oncology to find the most relevant webcasts.
