LUTON, England, Nov. 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Elster announced today that it will showcase the V200/V210 volumetric polymer water meter and its advanced intelligent AMR/AMI metering solutions at Pollutec, the international exhibition of environmental equipment, technology and services for industry and local authorities, from 27 November to 30 November in Lyon, France.

"Elster has a strong network of local agents throughout France and is proud to be a leading supplier to the water industry in this market, with major French utilities turning to Elster for innovative solutions," said Bruno Guichard, managing director of Elster Water in France.
Elster pioneered the development of the polymer body water meter and in March this year announced that it had shipped its one millionth polymer bodied water meter for the European utility market.
The V200/V210 polymer water meter is automated meter reading (AMR) compatible and was developed to comply with the latest EU and other regional standards, such as UK WIS 4-32-19.
With a polymer body, the V200/V210 meter is about half the weight of an equivalent brass bodied meter and has one-third of the carbon footprint. It is suitable for varied installations, including land that may be contaminated. Additionally, more than 98 percent of the V200/V210 polymer meter can be recycled into grade three plastic products.
At Pollutec, Elster also will display its most advanced intelligent AMR/AMI metering solutions to help customers to improve revenue, reduce operating costs and enhance customer service. Elster offers a broad range of intelligent metering solutions in the form of automated meter reading (AMR) and advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) systems. Elster's approach allows utilities to implement flexible, cost-effective reading systems that can be integrated into today's operations, while allowing the system to evolve as the utility grows or as technology advances.
Elster Emeris solutions comprise of five solutions, each designed to address particular needs. In addition, Elster offers services which can be adapted to specific customer requirements.
Elster also will be represented at Pollutec through its subsidiary Elster Coronis, a provider of wireless technology platforms that allow for the collection and management of data, as well as communications with remote sensors. Elster Coronis is a RF center of excellence for not only the rest of Elster, but also works with OEM and integrators. Its major global deployments include water and gas distribution networks, waste water treatment plants and irrigation systems. A key component in most Elster Coronis engagements is Wavenis® technology, a wireless communication platform that can provide two-way long-range connections and network services for autonomous devices with extremely limited battery resources. Smart metering applications represent more than 50 percent of the more than five million Wavenis-enabled devices that Elster Coronis has deployed worldwide.
