"Elster is proud to be a leading supplier to the water industry in the Gulf and Middle East regions. Significant customers in Abu Dhabi and Qatar have turned to Elster for innovative Smart Water Metering solutions without moving parts," said Alex Elder, managing director of Elster SmartMeter in the UK.
"Elster continues to provide innovative Smart Metering solutions in the Gulf and Middle East region having recently formed a collaboration with a leading battery manufacturer to produce a high temperature battery chemistry that significantly improves the long-term battery life in an environment where ambient temperatures can exceed 50 degrees Celsius. Exclusive access to this battery technology brings additional benefits to customers in the Gulf and Middle East regions who use Elster's latest generation of Smart Water Meter," Elder added.
The Smart Metering range builds on Elster's 50 years of experience supplying water meters to Gulf and Middle Eastern countries and encompasses the very latest measuring technology packaged in a manner designed specifically for the tough operating conditions prevalent in the region.
The smart electronic AMR-enabled products feature no moving parts technology which makes them more resistant to blockage. At the same time, they offer high accuracy for the measurement of water only. The unique air detection system prevents measurement of air flow.
At Wetex, Elster also will display the next generation H5000 Woltmann (turbine) bulk water meter. With its features, the H5000 is ideally suited for billing or water distribution applications. AMR/AMI connectivity is assured with a choice of industry standard communication outputs. The H5000 also has the widest measuring range of any metering technology with a single measuring element. With low-flow capabilities similar to combination meters, the H5000 provides a metrological performance that ensures maximum measurement of water flow.
