-- Recognized with "Business Service Innovation" 2015 Award for Nanjing eLTE Broadband e -Government
LONDON, May 18, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Huawei today announced that Nanjing Commway and Huawei were honored with the "Business Service Innovation" award by leading telecommunications media Global Telecoms Business (GTB) at its Innovation Awards 2015. The award recognizes Huawei's eLTE solution for the Nanjing e-Government network which uses LTE for rich functions, including traditional trunking, voice and video dispatching, and real-time video distribution.
In presenting the Awards, Alan Burkitt-Gray, editor of Global Telecoms Business, commented: "The Nanjing eLTE broadband e-Government network in China is the world's first LTE-based broadband trunking private network implemented for an e-Government, and can serve as an example for other cities looking to establish e-Government networks. Huawei's eLTE solution helps reorganize the existing information architecture for governments and public security departments, providing critical communication capabilities for smart cities."
In 2013, Nanjing Commway built the eLTE broadband e-Government network to assist the Nanjing government in establishing an ubiquitous, effective and secure citywide wireless broadband network. Huawei's eLTE solution was selected by Nanjing Commway for its outstanding capabilities in providing networks with high performance, reliability, high bandwidth and scalability, to support the e-Government network construction.
As a result, Huawei's eLTE solution was instrumental in ensuring the success of both the 2013 Asian Youth Games and the 2014 Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, by providing reliable and high-quality communication service support. It provided both fixed and mobile surveillance to capture live traffic and security feeds from around athlete housing, stadiums and surrounding areas. The trunking dispatching system also enabled effective coordination between event organizers, as well as security and transportation departments, providing real-time on-site command support to maintain order in the stadium.
To date, Huawei's eLTE solution has been applied to all districts in the Nanjing city. It has equipped the Nanjing government with a unified information platform that permits information sharing between different government sectors. This enables multiple service applications, such as visual command and dispatch, electronic power and water data monitoring, video surveillance for key traffic points, and mobile office for the municipal government, instrumental in laying a solid foundation for building a Smart Nanjing city.
Huawei launched the industry's first LTE broadband trunking communication solution in 2013. By the end of 2015 Q1, Huawei had signed 111 eLTE networks contracts and established 53 commercial eLTE networks.
The GTB Innovation 2015 Awards recognize significant contributions to the telecommunication industry, especially the critical communication industry.
