Energy Efficiency Award Seeks Role Models in Industry and Production
BERLIN, March 4, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
International competition on energy efficiency under the patronage of German Federal Minister of Economics
Businesses are invited to submit outstanding energy efficiency projects for the international Energy Efficiency Award 2013. The competition is open to any businesses from industry and production which have successfully improved the energy efficiency of their operations. Companies have until 30 June 2013 to enter the competition. The prize, a total of EUR 30.000, is awarded by the Deutsche Energie-Agentur GmbH (dena) - the German Energy Agency - as part of its "Initiative EnergieEffizienz" ("Energy Efficiency Campaign") with the support of the premium partners DZ BANK, Imtech Deutschland and Siemens. The competition is held under the patronage of German Federal Minister of Economics Dr Philipp Rösler. Information on how to enter the competition can be found at http://www.EnergyEfficiencyAward.de/en.
To participate in the competition, companies should have successfully implemented in-house energy efficiency projects. Entries by small and medium-sized businesses are particularly welcome. A jury of experts from politics, business, science and the media will assess the projects submitted and decide upon the winners. As a novelty in the award's history, this year a list of up to 15 projects nominated for the award will be published in September. The actual winners will be awarded in November at dena's Energy Efficiency Congress in Berlin.
Since 2007, dena has been giving the Energy Efficiency Award to honor exemplary energy efficiency projects in industry and production. dena's Initiative EnergieEffizienz is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology.
