The Roadshow will provide organizations with guidance, best practices, and contacts as they transition their IT infrastructures to a secure, open source-based, enterprise-ready hybrid cloud architecture. The agenda features presentations from a broad spectrum of open source providers and underscores the growing demand for open source-based software across Europe to support digital transformation.
Open source will impact 80 percent of infrastructure buying decisions in 2016. IDC further estimates that by 2017, over 70 percent of enterprises will embrace open source and open APIs as the underpinnings for cloud integration strategies. This paves way for organizations to support more interoperable and hybrid IT infrastructures, which provides greater flexibility and agility that IDC has said will be key to successful digital initiatives.
"The joining together of so many open source providers with Microsoft and IDC underscores the demand for greater agility and interoperability from organizations across Europe," said Marc Linster, Ph.D., Senior Vice President, Product Development, EnterpriseDB. "There is significant pressure on CIOs to fund digital transformation, and the ability to migrate IT infrastructures to hybrid cloud architectures supported by open source-based software, such as EDB Postgres, will be key to their success."
