Mounir Khazami, President of the Swiss Arab Network, said, "Having Ethica Institute of Islamic Finance as our Knowledge Partner in the Arab Banking and Finance Forum ideally complements one of the key messages of the conference: Islamic finance is a future reality for Europe just as it is a present reality across the globe."
"Part of the disenfranchisement that many immigrant Muslims feel in Europe is due to the lack of interest-free financial options in line with their faith. We aim to help bridge this gap by providing a forum for networking. Islamic finance has already spread across the world and one of the aims of this conference is to show the viability of Islamic finance in Europe," said Ethica's spokesperson.
Despite a constant growth and strong confidence in its future prospects, Arab Banking and Islamic Finance has received only limited attention in Switzerland so far. The Swiss Arab Network, a non-profit association headquartered in Switzerland aiming to bridge gaps between Switzerland and the Arab world, has initiated this forum.
