Europe in Sight: Yapital Also Available in Luxembourg
LUXEMBOURG, January 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
The country's biggest book retailer, Ernster- l'esprit live, is the first company to integrate the new cross-channel payment solution Yapital in Luxembourg
Ernster stores offer a wide selection of books and customers take their time to delve among them. Payment, however, is easy and convenient: Shortly, Yapital users will be able to use the fast, secure and intuitive cross-channel payment solution in Luxembourg as well. About six months after the successful launch of the innovative payment method in Germany, the well-established book retailer Ernster is the first company in the Grand Duchy to offer payment with Yapital in its seven bookstores and the 'Ernster L'esprit Café' in the shopping centre 'La Belle Etoile'.
A book lover who has found the right book wants to pay as quickly as possible and start reading. With Yapital, Ernster customers no longer have to wait too long at the counter. This is thanks to the cashless cross-channel payment system which allows customers to pay with their smartphone: They simply scan the QR code displayed on the cash register with their Yapital app and confirm the purchase - that's it. The transaction is processed in real time and the money is transferred to the bookseller immediately.
"Books and coffee: This is an important step for Yapital into the daily life of consumers," says Nils Winkler, Chairman of the Board of Yapital. "Paying with Yapital is just more fun - not only in supermarkets, fashion stores or online, but also in a long-established book store. Or in a café. We are happy to finally reach consumers in the European country we are licensed in and where our head office is based."
Fernand Ernster, Director of the owner-managed family company, adds: "For four generations, Ernster has not only been keeping up with the times - as today's biggest book retailer in Luxembourg we are also contributing to the country's zeitgeist. Nowadays, this includes enthusiasm for new technologies; specifically for the enormous possibilities of QR code payment. And more specifically: for an innovation like Yapital."
