European Strategic Content Company Signs Exclusive Deal With Chinese Media Group, Caixin
LONDON, August 28, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
London-based, Alpha Grid, has signed an exclusive commercial representation agreement with Caixin Media - one of China's most respected business and financial media platforms.
Alpha Grid launched in April this year as a strategic sales company to help global brands execute campaigns and content partnerships with local language media in emerging markets. Its founder, Roslyn Shaw, left her role as Director of Strategic Content at CNBC International because of the opportunity she saw in connecting western companies with media platforms in growth markets.
"China is still growing at 7.6 percent and there are now as many middle- and upper-class Brazilians as there are people in France and Britain combined," said Roslyn Shaw.
"It is inevitable that global brands will apportion an increasing share of ad and marketing spend to growth markets in coming years and we want to make it easier for them to navigate these territories."
Alpha Grid's intention is to represent media platforms that reach decision makers and HNWs.
Its partner for China, Caixin Media, delivers business and financial news in Mandarin and English across a range of platforms including magazines, websites, mobile apps, conferences, books and online television. Its readers and event attendees are among China's elite and its Founder and Editor-in-Chief, Ms. Hu Shuli is recognized internationally for her achievements in journalism.
Shaw continues: "We are honoured to have Caixin as our inaugural partner. Hu Shuli, has set the standard for business journalism in China and she and her team have built award-winning print, digital and event platforms that will be hugely useful to global brands seeking engagement with decision makers in Asia and beyond. We see enormous potential to expand Caixin's sales globally."
Caixin Media has signed on Alpha Grid as its exclusive European strategic sales force. Their first collaboration saw Alpha Grid secure a strategic partner for a Caixin roundtable in Russia, which brought together CEOs and academic leaders from China, the UK and Russia to debate the evolution of China's economy.
Shaw adds: "We are going to be niche, specialised and focused. We're being selective with platforms, offering an in-house production capability for high-quality activation and we're reaching out to the Luxury, Finance, Professional Services and B2B sectors since that's what we know."
Alpha Grid expects to open a second office before the end of the year, in Singapore.
Roslyn Shaw has 18 years experience as a broadcaster, producing business news for BBC before moving to current affairs television and producing two live prime ministerial debates. She has specialised in Branded Content since 2002 and is on the Advisory Board of the Branded Content Marketing Association.
