EXPO 2017 Expands Cooperation With Eastern Europe

As part of the visit of the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, Chairman of the Board of the National Company Astana EXPO 2017 Akhmetzhan Yessimov has visited Poland and Serbia in order to expand partnership with these countries.
In Poland, Mr. Yessimov has held a bilateral meeting with Mateusz Morawiecki, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development. The parties have discussed Warsaw's preparation for the Astana EXPO 2017 Future Energy International Specialized Exhibition to be held in Astana next summer.
"Poland is actively preparing for participation in EXPO 2017. To date, a thematic application has already been submitted, and the date for the National Day has been booked for September 7, 2017," said the head of the National Company Astana EXPO 2017 during the meeting.
He also said that "the area of the Polish pavilion will total 397 sq. m, and it will neighbor the pavilions of Vatican and a number of international organizations."
Following the visit, a memorandum of cooperation has been signed between the Polish Chamber of Tourism and the National Company Astana EXPO 2017. The parties have agreed to share their expertise in the sphere of tourism.
As part of his visit to Serbia, Mr. Yessimov has held a number of bilateral meetings with the Prime Minister of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic and the Commissioner General of the Republic of Serbia for Expo 2017 Astana Zarko Malinovic. Following the visit, an Agreement on Participation in the EXPO 2017 exhibition has been signed. The area of the Serbian pavilion will exceed 360 sq. m. It will be situated in the same building as the pavilions of Russia, Sri Lanka and Egypt. As part of the visit, an agreement was signed on Serbia's participation in the EXPO 2017 exhibition.

The Astana EXPO 2017 International Specialized Exhibition titled "Future Energy" is an exposition and an entertainment event that will take place between June 10 and September 10, 2017 in Astana. The exhibition will last 93 days and will be one of the most spectacular cultural venues in 2017.
To date, 97 countries and 18 international organizations have confirmed that they will participate in the Astana EXPO 2017 exposition. Overall, more than 100 countries are expected to participate in the event.
