MILAN, May 6, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --
The company producing the RIO2016 Olympic Ceremonies is working alongside EXPO for the inauguration
One year from the Rio 2016 Olympic Ceremonies, Filmmaster Events has produced the Expo 2015 Opening Ceremony on May Day. A ceremony with a strong institutional identity, in line with the BIE - Bureau International des Exposition protocol and that of major international events, with the intervention of the highest offices of the State, a live connection with the Holy Father, 5000 selected guests and the international press, a live Eurovision broadcast watched by millions of viewers, and one that was reported on by TG1 with a two-hour live broadcast. In the context of the ceremony Filmmaster Events, besides the production and development of the creative concept, was also in charge of the Organisational Secretariat as well as the management and logistics of guests.

The ceremony is designed to convey the values of Italian traditions and excellence and to emphasise the importance of this great event for Italy and the whole world. It is a journey that will involve in a single narrative, some true Italian icons. Official speeches were given by Giuseppe Sala, General Commissioner of Expo Milano 2015, the President of the International Exhibitions Bureau (BIE), Ferdinand Nagy, and it fell to the Prime Minister Matteo Renzi to declare the Expo open.
Filmmaster Events followed every detail within the Ceremony, from design to production, video content to the coordination of all live interventions, in agreement with the broadcaster. A complex machine rich in content set up in a few weeks, which required great expertise and attention to safety and to the delicate issue of protocol.
Antonio Abete, CEO said: "We are very proud to take part in the Opening Ceremony of Expo Milano 2015; it is the completion of a long project we've been working on for over a year. Expo is a much anticipated event and finally the time has come for it to begin, and we are ready."
Alfredo Accatino, Creative & Artistic Director of Filmmaster Events, said: "This ceremony has an important meaning for us, we work in Italy and we will put our country in the centre of the world in the next six months, and later we will become protagonists in RIO2016 with the Olympic Ceremonies. On our journey we have created world class Ceremonies, such as those in Turin in 2006, the Mediterranean Games, the bicentennial of Mexico and the Commonwealth Games, and many more in which the values of the country and national pride were mixed with great show moments. On this occasion, the tones were undoubtedly institutional because we wanted to comply with protocol and the request for sobriety made by the head of the Expo, so much so that part of the material will be reused during the semester for greater optimisation. We have been working alongside Expo for over a year, first with the preliminary events in preparation for the World Exposition, then as Official Supplier & Partner, and finally we will design the content of three pavilions for the sponsor companies (Intesa, San Pellegrino and CNH). We've been breathing this atmosphere for some time and we are sure it will be a memorable ceremony. It's an Expo - it's all to be seen."
