As part of the initiative, EY firms will provide advisory and other services to member cities across a range of projects including smart transport, asset information, digital, job creation, inclusive growth and emergency management. They will help cities assess their risks and opportunities and position city governing bodies to manage related projects and strategies.
Bill Banks, EY Global Infrastructure Leader, says:
"We have long admired the purpose, ambition and scale of the 100 Resilient Cities organization. Being a part of this collaboration positions EY firms to provide member cities across the world access to our global network of advisors who bring a wealth of experience supporting urban planning and management. While infrastructure is a part of this equation, we will also be involved in drafting recommendations to address many of the environmental and societal challenges facing cities of the 21st century, like health care, economic development, education and job creation. The cooperation is a unique way of looking at how we make our cities smarter and much more sustainable."
The 100RC platform is comprised of organizations across the private, public, academic and non-profit sectors, which then work with the member cities. Organizations aligned to 100RC are dedicated to providing these cities with recommendations that integrate big data, analytics, technology, resilience land use planning, infrastructure design, and new financing and insuring products among others.
Liz Yee, Vice President of Strategic Partnerships and Solutions at 100 Resilient Cities, says:
"EY is a global leader and we are proud to have them as a member of the 100 Resilient Cities platform. Their experience in providing key transaction advisory services will help guide members of the 100RC network as they develop and implement resilience strategies to tackle some of the biggest challenges facing cities due to globalization, urbanization and climate change."
