Run in association with the British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM), and with show partner Mitie, the show was proud to have Sodexo as its Gold sponsor, with sterling support from CIBSE, Building Futures Group and magazine partner FMJ. Endorsement from such respected organisations is recognition of the fact that the Facilities Show regularly attracts visitors from 39 different countries, and 35% of them have a budget of over £1 million. A healthy proportion - 43% - head up departments and teams within their companies, and 40% of visitors have told us that they attend to network with their peers.
Fergus Bird, Event Manager of Facilities Show 2015, said:
"Visitors to this year's show came from a huge range of organisations including Westfield Europe, Vinci Facilities, ITV, NSPCC, GlaxoSmithKline, ISS and NHS Blood and Transplant, to name but a few. A quick scan of visitor job titles - including Head of Facilities, Head of Strategic Procurement, Global Facilities Manager, Head of Sustainable Workplace, and Operations Director - shows just how important the exhibition is to the key opinion formers who are setting the pace in this sector."
Facilities Show also successfully launched the Energy Management Trail this year. Visitors interested in sustainability, waste management and environmental issues didn't need a sat nav to find relevant exhibitors - a special trail mapped out on the exhibition hall floor directed them to all the latest products and services in this area. This was itself inspired by the success of the Innovation Trail, introduced at last year's event, which highlighted all the latest, cutting edge products and services to hit the industry.
Total Facilities Management (TFM) continues to be a significant sector, and some of the biggest names in the business were exhibiting on the show floor and also took part in the 'Meet the Buyer' programme. This feature, launched in 2014 and brought back by popular demand for this year's show, gave visitors and exhibitors the chance to hold one-to-one meetings with the procurement teams from some of the UK's largest FM outsourcing companies. Mitie, Bilfinger, Sodexo, Bellrock, Vinci, Bouygues and CBRE were among those who took part.
Additional highlights at Facilities Show included the launch of the Inspirational Speaker Series which attracted large crowds from across the security, safety, fire, facilities management and service management industries to the 400 capacity theatre each day. Kicking off with Baroness Karren Brady on the first day, followed by Sir Ranulph Fiennes on the second day and finishing with Sir Chris Hoy on the final day, each speaker took to the stage to share anecdotes from their own illustrious careers and offer some invaluable advice on leadership and achieving success in any field.
Facilities Show 2016 takes place from 21st-23rd June at ExCeL London. For more information about Facilities Show 2016, visit http://www.facilitiesshow.com.
