Today, Copenhagen Fashion Summit releases the program for the world's largest and most important event on sustainability in fashion, which will take place on April 24, 2014 in Copenhagen. The program contains an exceptional lineup of keynotes from the globally renowned luxury group Kering to the fast-fashion multinational H&M all focusing on the topic "solutions". By concentrating on solutions, Copenhagen Fashion Summit suggests that it is no longer enough to just acknowledge the problems and challenges facing the global fashion industry, but rather it is essential to begin the sustainable transformation of the industry.
Eva Kruse, CEO of Danish Fashion Institute, the organization behind the fashion summit, says: "We're only one and a half months away from hosting the world's largest event on sustainable fashion, and the final details, including our keynote lineup, are beginning to fall into place. Today, we're ready to reveal the preliminary program and we're very excited about it."
Listed on the Copenhagen Fashion Summit program is Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, who is the patron of Copenhagen Fashion Summit and will open the Summit at 10AM. A full-day lineup of distinguished keynotes from H&M, Kering and the Financial Times to sustainability advocates such as Livia Firth and Connie Nielsen will capture the stage of the beautiful Copenhagen Opera House throughout the day with speeches on sustainable fashion.
Eva Kruse continues: "It is our hope that the keynotes will inspire and influence the wide spectrum of industry representatives that have already signed up to participate, from the luxury segment key players such as Saint Laurent, Ralph Lauren and Alexander Mcqueen to the commercial key players like Inditex and Bestseller. Why? Because we need the entire industry to be a part of this agenda."
In the afternoon, Summit participants can enjoy a short break from the intense conference program and watch an exclusive sustainable runway show featuring 12 prominent Nordic fashion brands such as Swedish Filippa K and Danish Designers Remix. The day rounds off at 6PM after a moderated panel discussion with selected keynotes and closing remarks by Danish Fashion Institute CEO Eva Kruse.
