Finesse Solutions Introduces SmartParts for Intelligent Universal Controllers

SANTA CLARA, California, March 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Finesse Solutions, Inc, a manufacturer of measurement and control solutions for life sciences process applications, announced the launch of its new SmartParts™ family of  standalone pumps and control valves.  SmartParts are the building blocks for Finesse's next generation of bioreactor controllers and purification applications.  These SmartParts™ are intelligent and universal, namely that have plug-and-play components and can control any size or type of upstream vessel or downstream skid.   Designed for R&D and cGMP scale-up, SmartParts have built-in diagnostics, programmable functionality, and local control that is optimized for the function of each component. 

The standalone SmartPump series is designed to meet high precision liquid delivery requirements in bioprocess applications. By combining industry leading pump heads from Watson Marlow and Cole Parmer with next-generation Finesse electronic SmartBoards, the SmartPump series guaranties superior control of process dosing, feeding, product transfer/harvest, buffer mixing (gradient or step) or general liquid management.

The standalone SmartValve series is designed to meet high speed requirements on downstream bioprocess filtration and chromatography applications.  By providing pairs of pinch valves capable of rapid shut-off for tubing ranging from 1/8" to 3/8" in inner diameter, the SmartValve family allows process engineers to rapidly construct any process flow required for their downstream application.  The SmartValve guarantees complete shutoff for product transfer/harvest, buffer mixing (gradient or step) or general liquid management.
