The 56th edition of the Barcelona Boat Show, organised by Fira de Barcelona, will exceed 260 exhibitors and 670 boats on show, featuring premium international brands such as Beneteau, Jeanneau, CNB-Lagoon, Marina Estrella, Sunseeker, Touron, Yamaha and Zodiac, amongst others.
The Mediterranean waters of Barcelona's Port Vell will be home to the floating exhibition of boats of over 8 metres, most notably a fleet of 20 catamarans in the largest-ever grouping in Spain and one of the biggest in Europe. Meanwhile, on dry land there will be an exhibition of small boats and dinghies as well as the latest new products in electronics, engines, paints, sails, trailers, charters and nautical services.
Innovation, enterprise and business
The Seminars for Entrepreneurs and Startups will be held for the second time following its success last year. The initiative, which takes place every day of the Boat Show, will reveal innovative projects aimed at the nautical world and includes networking sessions, an exhibition area and an investment forum.
Still in the professional arena, an agenda of Professional Meetings is planned to encourage new contacts and business deals between exhibitors and visitors, and a series of seminars, conferences, round tables, presentations of regattas and trophies and prize-giving ceremonies will be organised in the Espai del Mar area.
Recreational ideas for enjoying the sea
Apart from its professional side, the Boat Show will also be organising a host of recreational activities to showcase the many different ways of enjoying the sea to suit every taste. The Fun Beach area will be hosting beginners' sessions in water sports such as dinghy sailing, kayaking and paddle surfing. Meanwhile, the Traditional Sailing area will host an exhibition of classic sailboats along with workshops on maritime customs, amongst other activities. And Friday will be the time for Nautical Night, which includes the 'Swimnight & Kayak' event (an exhibition of swimmers across the port, escorted by kayaks), enlivened by parties organised by the exhibitors, live music, fashion shows and gourmet tasting sessions.
