Following some interesting results from the US - the team at Fitzpatrick Referrals will be evaluating the efficacy of hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) in tissue healing and reconstruction as well as several more novel treatments. In the human orthopaedic field, HBOT has been used to treat non-union fractures and osteoradionecrosis and to support the incorporation of bone grafts.
Founder and Managing Director of Fitzpatrick Referrals, Professor Noel Fitzpatrick, who is also known as Channel 4's "The Supervet" has spearheaded a number of world-class initiatives, including being the first veterinary surgeon to give a cat two osseointegrated bionic leg implants after an accident with a combine harvester destroyed his two hind feet.
The provider of the veterinary hyperbaric chamber is Hyperbaric Veterinary Medicine (HVM), www.hvmed.com.
