Fotolia's TEN Collection pairs photographers and designers for Season 3
NEW YORK and LONDON, March 5, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Two artists, two different skill sets, one creation – it's Fotolia's third season of TEN!
Following a successful second season (with over 300,000 downloads and a million interested visitors), this time Fotolia is pairing ten internationally renowned artists into five pairs of one photographer, one designer. These pairs will each create an original digital artwork depicting their vision of the future. The first duo, Quebecois photographer Eric Pare, and Michigan designer Mike Campeau, will present "Creating Her Own Future" on Monday, March 10th, when a PSD can be downloaded free for 24 hours at www.tenbyfotolia.com.
The PSD file includes all the layers, effects, photographic meter settings, as well as the Fotolia source files. A free "making-of" tutorial video, sharing the artists' techniques and creative processes will also be available. Photos used to create the image, and 10 more taken during the shoot will be made available to buy at www.fotolia.com. Watch the teaser here.
Light photographer, Eric Pare, and detailed designer Mike Campau join forces
Photographer Eric Pare is an acknowledged expert in light-painting, bullet time and stop-motion photography techniques. Light is central in his minimalist approach to his creations.
Mike Campau prefers to call himself a "photo-designer", because he combines many different techniques in his work, such as photography, illustration and CGI (computer-generated imagery). The University of Michigan graduate has over 15 years' experience in ad agencies, with celebrities such as Tracy Morgan, Mike Tyson, Roger Daltry, and with big clients such as Chevrolet, Ford, Pepsi and Sony.
Their joint artwork, "Creating Her Own Future" blends Pare's captivating light work with Campau's careful attention to detail. Both agree that the idea of working together was exciting for them both. "This is an excellent way to meet other artists and photographers who share the same passion," confides Campau; while Pare says it brought creative inspiration: "I've never worked with someone who was able to push my photography so far."
The TEN Contest: Challenge Eric Pare and Mike Campau, begins March 12th
On March 12th, Fotolia launches the TEN Contest for designers and photographers, professionals and amateurs. Full details can be found at www.tenbyfotolia.com to challenge all five TEN duos. Designers will be asked to interpret Campau's design, and photographers to submit images taken using Pare's techniques, explained in detail in the making-of video.
Prizes for the winners include Wacom tablets, subscriptions to Adobe Creative Cloud, Roland VersaStudio BN-20 printers, Exaprint prints, and more. The closing date to upload their entry to the Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/TenCollection is March 31st. Entries will be judged on a combination of public votes and an expert jury.
The winners will be announced on April 8th.
