Fraport Traffic Figures - November 2014: Fraport Reports Ongoing Traffic Growth at Its Frankfurt Global Hub and at Airports in the Group's International Portfolio

In November 2014, Fraport AG posted a new monthly passenger record of more than 4.4 million passengers at its Frankfurt Airport (FRA) home base - a 2.5 percent gain compared to the same month last year and further confirmation of the positive trend in passenger traffic in recent months. FRA's cargo volume (airfreight and airmail) also continued to grow in the reporting month, advancing by 3.2 percent year-on-year to 202,728 metric tons. Maximum takeoff weights (MTOWs) expanded by 2.7 percent to about 2.4 million metric tons. In contrast, the number of aircraft movements declined by 1.8 percent year-on-year to 37,109 takeoffs and landing.
Across the Group, the airports in Fraport AG's international portfolio also maintained strong growth during the reporting month. Slovenia's Ljubljana Airport (LJU) welcomed 84,507 passengers in November 2014, up 1.1 percent year-on-year. With some 1.3 million passengers, Lima Airport (LIM) in the capital city of Peru recorded a 6.1 percent jump in passenger traffic compared to November 2013. The Fraport Twinstar airports of Burgas (BOJ) and Varna (VAR) on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast saw traffic surge by 22.9 percent to 40,219 passengers. Antalya Airport (AYT) on the Turkish Riviera received nearly 1.1 million passengers in November 2014, up 2.8 percent compared to the same month last year. At St. Petersburg Airport (LED) in Russia, passenger numbers rose by 5.8 percent to 934,566. Hanover Airport (HAJ) in northern Germany achieved an 8 percent increase to 402,179 passengers in November 2014. China's Xi'an Airport (XIY) recorded almost 2.4 million passengers, up 22.7 percent year-on-year.
