Givex Brings Patisserie Valerie Into Gift Giving World

One of the UK's largest cafés offers gift cards for the first time, powered by Givex

Being able to finally offer gift cards is a huge step forward for one of the UK's largest café chains Patisserie Valerie. Leveraging Givex's existing partnership with handheld terminal payment processor Global Payments, Patisserie Valerie has benefitted from a solution that bypassed their antiquated POS system.

"Being able to offer gift cards for our customers to purchase is something we've wanted to do for a long time, but we weren't ready to purchase an entirely new POS system," explains Jon Hassall, Commercial Projects Director for Patisserie Valerie. He continues, "Since Givex was able to implement our new gift card system, sales have increased and staff and customers are happy. The Givex team was professional and timely from start to finish. They were even able to execute our gift card programme in a short 8-week time frame, just in time for the Christmas season.  The gift card implementation was very smooth, and we are already looking forward to adding loyalty programme functionality in future."

"Even though Patisserie Valerie had an older POS system that was unable to support gift card functionality, we were able to sidestep this using an application loaded directly on to their Ingenico payment terminals. This app allows clients to connect directly to Givex's data centres, enabling them to process gift card and loyalty transactions via the terminal, which will definitely stand us in good stead for future implementations where the client needs an alternative to POS integration," explains Robert Wright, Business Development Manager, Givex UK.

Givex delivered a successful, user-friendly gift card programme available at all 113 Patisserie Valerie locations, meeting all project expectations with an 8 week time frame.
