SOLLENTUNA, Sweden, March 23, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
With the launch of the latest Micro, Mini, and Solid pumps Grindex is setting new standards in the small pump market. The pumps that can handle 4, 6, and 7 litres per second and pump up to 10, 16 and 12 metres respectively, are the latest Grindex pumps to go through a complete revamp.

All of the pumps are designed to be lightweight, robust and durable, making them ideal for use in the harsh environments. Features for improved operation include an air valve that cools the motor when the pump runs dry; a water cut that prevents leakage through the power cable; a thermal contact that protects the motor from overheating, double mechanical shaft seals in the oil bath, essential for a long life span in tough applications; and a rubber strainer that improves the shock resistance.
Ease of serviceability has also been an important focus of the redesign process. The new Mini and Solid pumps, for example, have external oil plugs meaning that they do not need to be disassembled to check the oil, this can be done quickly and easily on site.
"Evolving the pumps is an important part of our business at Grindex," says Håkan Lundin Group Sales Manager. "One of the reasons we have been so successful over the years is that we always make ourselves available to our customers and we listen to their needs. Much of the pump revamp process is in response to what they have been telling us," he continues.
The Solid sludge pump comes with a polyurethane impeller and pump housing that provides high wear resistance when pumping abrasive media. Thus making the pump even more hard-wearing. This is particular important as Solid pump is often running in water containing relatively abrasive solids, in fact it can handle solids up to the size of 38 mm.
"Customers looking for the Macro pump can now turn to the Mini, which has superseded Macro," says Lundin. "And although the name change may suggest the pump is slightly smaller, it's quite the opposite Mini offers 20 percent better performance," he continues.
"We believe that these pumps are the best available in their class," concludes Lundin, "a viewpoint that we hope is shared by the market,"
