GroupM has come out on top as the media agency holding company with the most award wins across its agencies at the 60th Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity, with a combined total of 45 awards across Maxus, MEC, MediaCom and Mindshare.
MEC was the most-awarded media agency at this year's Cannes Lion with 21 awards overall. Five of these wins were Media Lions, including a bronze for its Lloyds Banking Group "Torchview" campaign in the UK. MEC also scooped five golds, seven silvers and three bronze in the Press Lions as well as a bronze Design Lion.
Following in its sister agency's footsteps Mindshare was the seconded most awarded media agency at the 2013 Cannes Lions as it went home with 18 awards. Additionally the media agency was the second most awarded in the Media Lions category, with eight media wins including a gold for its "Kleenex Catches Colds" campaign. Other wins for the agency included three Titanium and Integrated, one Branded Content and Entertainment, one PR, and five Cyber Lions, as well as bronze in the Media Young Lions for its team from Argentina.
Also contributing to the overall success of the media group, MediaCom won two bronze Media Lions and one silver for Branded Content and Entertainment while Maxus claimed a silver Media Lion and took gold in the Media Young Lions for its UK team.
