GSMA's Global Mobile Awards to Recognise Technical Innovation in the Mobile App Sector

The GSMA has launched its prestigious 17th Annual Global Mobile Awards, which recognise excellence, achievement and innovation within the mobile communications industry, and will culminate in a presentation at the GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on Tuesday 28th February, 2012. New categories have been introduced to reflect developments and innovation across the entire mobile ecosystem, including applications, as well as services, devices and technology.
"Through the 'Most Innovative Mobile App' award, we are seeking game-changing developers that are pushing boundaries and moving the market to the next level," said Michael O'Hara, Chief Marketing Officer, GSMA. "Our judges will be looking for innovative technology and business model leadership in areas such as augmented reality, 'in-app' purchase and commerce solutions, social media integration, the deployment and management of cloud-based apps, and task-oriented apps, among others."
Eligible entrants in this new category are companies and organisations that develop or deliver mobile applications including vendors, operators, content providers and brand owners.
