GSMA's Global Mobile Awards to Recognise Technologies for Safeguarding and Empowering Customers
LONDON, September 28, 2011 /PRNewswire/ --
The GSMA has launched its prestigious 17th Annual Global Mobile Awards, which recognise excellence, achievement and innovation within the mobile communications industry, and will culminate in a presentation at the GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on Tuesday 28th February, 2012.
New categories have been introduced to reflect developments and innovation across the entire mobile ecosystem, including applications, services, devices and technology, with a specific focus for the first time on the 'Best Technology Product or Solution for Safeguarding and Empowering Customers'.
"This brand-new award calls for mobile solutions that enable service providers to better protect networks against unauthorised access and fraudulent use of their services," said Michael O'Hara, Chief Marketing Officer, GSMA. "Our judges are looking for best-in-class technologies and solutions that make it easier for mobile users to protect and secure personal data or manage privacy when using data services or social networking sites, for example."
Eligible entrants in this new category include suppliers, manufacturers, vendors, software developers, service providers and innovators who provide technologies or solutions in the GSM mobile environment aimed at safeguarding customers and operators.
