LONDON, Feb. 6, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Level 3 Communications, Inc. Part of WPP Group, and a world leader in marketing communications services, Hogarth Worldwide is rapidly expanding its global footprint. The company needs scalable connectivity to support video, digital and print advertising production facilities, which are growing at a rate of approximately 0.5 terabytes of additional content every week.
Multiple production teams of up to 100 people, located throughout North America, Europe, Asia and South America, will rely on Level 3's international 10GigE wavelengths and VPLS (Virtual Private LAN Service) to securely share content, enabling it to be tailored for local markets. Because of the sensitive, mission-critical content Hogarth works with on a daily basis, the company needed a way to ensure its documents and projects were secure and accessible at any time. Therefore, Hogarth selected Level 3's colocation and London datacenter services to provide an additional layer of redundancy.
"The sharing and localization of digital assets is central to our global growth," said Dino Ciminiello, Group IT Director at Hogarth Worldwide. "We selected Level 3 to enable this level of collaboration as we need a network partner of truly international scale with the capacity to grow alongside our demands."
He added: "In addition, Level 3 understands the importance of data integrity, providing secure data transmission using VPLS, as well as significant redundancy capabilities -- all backed up with support. This is vital for our business continuity and disaster recovery strategy."
Level 3's wavelengths are designed for delivering demanding content and are available at speeds up to 100GigE. Level 3's VPLS will also allow Hogarth Worldwide's users in London, New York, Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Bucharest, Hong Kong, Singapore, Sao Paulo and Mexico City to communicate over a fully meshed private network, allowing globally dispersed locations to share data securely.
Tim Passingham, Senior Vice President, Enterprise Business, EMEA at Level 3, said, "Marketing and advertising requires scalable connectivity because it is an incredibly dynamic market continually responding to emerging rich media trends. With our ability to deliver this type of content for businesses around the world, the Level 3 network is well positioned to support Hogarth Worldwide's international growth objectives."
