Holiday Inn Express Conversions Open in Braintree, Shrewsbury and Birmingham
LONDON, November 6, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
IHG has signed and opened three new Holiday Inn Express hotels in the United Kingdom following their fast-track conversion from Hampton by Hilton. The hotels will be managed by Kew Green.
IHG Chief Development Officer Europe, Robert Shepherd, said the owner's decision to convert the properties to Holiday Inn Express hotels was a testament to the strength of the brand.
"Holiday Inn Express is one of the fastest growing midscale hotel brands in the industry, opening on average two hotels per week around the world. They're a great hotel choice for guests on the go as they offer exactly what they need - a great night's sleep in a quality hotel, with a free breakfast.
Every year 100 million people stay at a Holiday Inn or Holiday Inn Express hotel around the world. They know they can expect a consistent, refreshed experience at an affordable price wherever they are."
Paul Johnson, Chief Executive Officer of Kew Green Hotels Ltd, said:
"We are delighted to have signed agreements for these three great hotels and look forward to working with the management teams and staff to ensure their guests experience the best of the Holiday Inn Express experience. We have worked with the owners to provide a strategic solution to these hotels and look forward to realising their potential and maximising owner returns."
Since 2005, 38 hotels - 3,712 rooms - in the UK have been converted from non-IHG brands to either Holiday Inn or Holiday Inn Express.
Holiday Inn Express hotels participate in IHG's guest loyalty program, Priority Club Rewards, the industry's first and largest guest loyalty program with 67 million members.
