Hrithik Roshan Bares His Heart to Men's Health
NEW DELHI, July 31, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
"All the good that has happened in my life has been inversely proportionate to the dark, depressed spaces I've been in. If it hadn't been for the fears, the tears, the mind-numbing sensation of hitting rock bottom, greatness would never have been discovered by anyone!"
In one of his most candid interviews ever, Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan bares his heart and soul for the August issue of Men's Health magazine, talking on a range of topics from health and fitness to his struggles in the industry and his ambitions. "A sad, depressed, bitter man can never make anyone happy. You have to be at peace with yourself first if you are going to service happiness and smiles to others. You have to be your No 1. Make yourself the priority," says he in his chat with the magazine's editorial director Jamal Shaikh. Hrithik's picture for the cover and the inside feature is shot by celebrity photographer Dabboo Ratnani.
Perhaps for the first time, Hrithik also talks about how he fought a lonely but determined battle against fitness and confidence issues in an industry that puts a premium on looking good. Says he: "The two magic words that I give are 'initiative' and 'consistency.' The only time you can take the step towards change is now. Even if they're baby steps, start today! And consistency is important because you must make time every day to work on achieving your goals. Even if there is little you can do, do it!"
The August issue of Men's Health, with a special package on "Made in India" as part of the Independence Day special, will hit the stands in the first week of this month. Men's Health is India's largest-selling men's magazine, and was launched in the country by The India Today Group in 2006. Internationally, it is the world's largest magazine in the men's category as well. Along with its focus on the core topics of health, fitness and nutrition, Men's Health embodies the feel of a true lifestyle magazine with sections on fashion, grooming, adventure, work, managing relationships and a surplus of other 'guy' topics.
