HS-UK and Ellex are Delighted to Confirm an Impressive Faculty for the '15th Ellex European Ultrasound Training Course'

Hatem Atta, Consultant Ultrasound Lead, Moorfields Eye Hospital, will be chairing the Course. Mr Atta worked as a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon for Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for many years. He has sub-speciality interests in vitreo-retinal surgery and ophthalmic ultrasound and is a Fellow with the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. Mr Atta is the author of numerous ultrasound books and has recently authored e-learning ultrasound modules for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists.
Jens Folke Kiilgaard will also be speaking at the event. As Chief Consultant Vitreoretinal Surgeon and Ocular Oncologist at Rigshospitalet, Copenhagen he is responsible for the education of all ophthalmology residents. He is also an Associate Professor in Clinical Ophthalmology at the University of Copenhagen.
Andrzej Dmitriew, Senior Consultant Ophthalmologist, Poznan University of Medical Sciences has also been confirmed as part of the Faculty. Dr Dmitriew has 15 years experience working in Ophthalmology and is a reviewer for the Journal of Refractive Surgery.
Tarek El-khashab has been an organiser and speaker at the annual 'Ellex European Ophthalmic Ultrasound Course' for twelve years. Tarek is a Consultant Ophthalmologist and has been the Lead for Ophthalmic Ultrasound Services at Mid-Cheshire NHS Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust since 1998.
Rizwana Siddiqi, Director of Clinical Affairs, Boomo Medical will also join the Faculty this year. Riz is a vision scientist with extensive ophthalmology experience across academic, research, clinical, commercial, educational and scientific environments. Her clinical interests include using a wide array of diagnostic methods such as imaging, ultrasound ocular electrophysiology & psychophysical testing.
The prestigious event will be held on Saturday 10th November 2018 at the Sheraton Heathrow Hotel. Key lectures include; 'Ultrasonography of Ocular Tumours' and 'Evaluation of Vitreoretinal Disorders' in addition to hands-on sessions which will demonstrate 'Posterior B-Scan examination' and 'Techniques for UBM examination.'
