Huawei Wins Best Mobile Infrastructure with its LampSite Solution at Mobile World Congress 2015
BARCELONA, Spain, March 3, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Huawei today announces that it wins Best Mobile Infrastructure Award at Mobile World Congress 2015 with its innovative LampSite solution.
In MBB era, the indoor coverage's digitization has become the industry consensus. It can greatly reduce the cost of construction and maintenance of indoor coverage, continuing to enhance the mobile broadband experience. As the industry's first centralized baseband Small Cell solution, Huawei LampSite is leading the indoor coverage's innovation: By network architecture digitization, operation and maintenance digitization, and operational capability digitization, LampSite provides targeted indoor coverage performance enhancements with better mobile broadband experience, increases business productivity for enterprises, and cultivates development of new data services and new subscribers.
Mr. Ryan Ding, President of Huawei's Products and Solutions, said: "We would like to take this opportunity to extend our appreciation to the judging committee, all industry colleagues and the GSMA. Our vision is Open ROADS to a Better Connected World, and the LampSite solution is one of the elements that allows us to achieve this vision. On behalf of our operator partners, we are extremely proud to have been the first to commercially introduce the LampSite solution almost two years ago. The solution is designed to be more scalable, flexible, as well as easier to deploy and manage. It is absolutely fitting that on the 20th anniversary of this GSMA award, Huawei's wireless product Line also happens to be celebrating its 20 year anniversary. During these past 20 years, Huawei has endeavored to drive forward the mobile industry through collaborations on commercialization, innovation and standardization. Looking ahead, we will continue to focus on customer-centric innovations and we remain committed to being the best business partner for all of our customers worldwide."
Along with the network operation shift in focus from voice to traffic, network architecture and user experiences become the key to strategy development for operators. The operator has recently completed the world's largest indoor coverage in Beijing International Airport in China by deploying Huawei LampSite. The entire deployment took only three months and the total deployment cost decreased by 50% compared with that of a traditional deployment, the peak rate reaches 140 Mbps in the test, which can greatly improve terminal user experience. It is estimated that all the investments of the operator will be returned within two years. Up to now, Huawei's LampSite solutions have been commercialized in more than 70 mobile operators spread throughout Europe, South-east Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America.
The judges said: "This shows significant promise in helping mobile operators improve indoor mobile broadband coverage, quality and capacity, using small cell technology, in a CapEX friendly manner."
