GENEVA, June 8, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --
IBS Software, one of the leading IT solution providers to the global air transportation industry, has been accorded 'NDC Capable' Level 3 status, the highest level certification, by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) for its iFly Res Passenger Service System (PSS). iFly Res is one among the first PSS to attain this recognition. This status recognizes that IBS supports deployments using offer and order management messages whose schemas are compliant with the standard NDC message schema, version PADIS Publication 15.2. IATA provides the only official industry certification program in support of NDC standard.

New Distribution Capability (NDC) is a travel industry-supported program launched by IATA to address the industry's current distribution limitations. The program focuses on the development and market adoption of a XML-based data transmission standard which allows rich content display. This will enable airlines to differentiate their products, sell directly as well as through indirect channels such as GDS or travel agency systems and transform the way air and non-air products are retailed to corporations, leisure and business travellers.
IBS' iFly Res comprehensively addresses all the key functions of an airline's passenger services system, including passenger reservations, schedules & flight control, inventory control, fares & ticketing, complex ancillary services management & distribution and departure control. With configurable capabilities and real-time operational data, the solution focuses on enhanced passenger experience, operational efficiency and revenue growth. NDC compliant iFly Res will benefit airlines to manage and distribute not just seats but all other ancillary products from within their PSS. Built with powerful rules engines, it simplifies and enhances an airlines' business giving them control of their own destiny. The addition of NDC schemas provide the opportunity to address the end-to-end airline distribution process, and to deliver enhanced customer experiences.
"IBS recognises the potential of NDC to allow airlines to get closer to their passengers who now expect meaningful digital interactions. We have made significant investments in NDC, both in IATA working groups and in product investment. We are proud to be one of the first PSS to achieve NDC Level 3 certification and will continue to enhance our portfolio to NDC standards as they evolve," said Paul Lynch, Head of Passenger Services, IBS Software.
"As more and more airlines move toward implementing the NDC standard, they will rely heavily upon the ability of their IT partners to support this transition. By achieving NDC Level 3 capable status, IBS Software is demonstrating its strong commitment to helping airlines deliver more value to the air traveller through the NDC Standard," said Yanik Hoyles, IATA Director, NDC Program.
