Infrascale already offers a comprehensive cloud-based data protection platform that enables resellers and managed service providers to offer backup and recovery services to their end-user customers without having to build out their own infrastructure. Now, Infrascale enables those companies to offer on premise backup appliances to their customers who have large data centers, especially those running VMWare, or where lost data must be recovered in a very short time window. By integrating the appliances into their cloud-based offerings, Infrascale enables these companies to offer the best of both appliance-based and cloud-based data protection strategies to their customers in one seamless offering.
"We work closely with over 1,000 MSP's and listen to their pains and issues," said Ken Shaw, founder and CEO of Infrascale. "This announcement is the direct result of our partners telling us that they want to offer a mix of appliances and cloud-based services to more fully address their customers' diverse backup and disaster recovery requirements."
Continuing its SaaS pricing model, Infrascale also announced that its appliances would be available through an innovative hardware-as-a-service (HaaS) pricing model. Rather than buying or leasing an appliance, companies can pay for just the amount of data they need to backup and Infrascale provides the appropriate appliances free of charge. End-users can increase or decrease the amount of storage under subscription in one terabyte increments as their needs go up or down, and Infrascale automatically provides any required appliance upgrades or replacements at no additional cost. End-users no longer have to worry about buying more than they need or running out of space and not having the budget to buy a bigger appliance.
The integration of hardware-based backup options extend Infrascale's lead in having the most complete platform for data protection available anywhere. "By offering hardware through an innovative HaaS pricing model, Infrascale is reshaping the backup, archive and disaster recovery business," added Ken Shaw. "Our partners and resellers now have access to the most comprehensive, best-in-class product line in the industry and a way to sell it to customers who have limited budgets."
