Ingenu joins IoT Trade Group to Expand Global Reach of LP-WAN
LONDON, June 28, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Ingenu, a leader in delivering wireless connectivity to machines in the nascent technology sector known as the Internet of Things (IoT), has joined the trade association, the IoT M2M Council (IMC) to augment the footprint of its low-power, wide-area network and technology. The IMC currently counts over 18,000 IoT buyers as members and gains 300 new members weekly.
"Our patented Random Phase Multiple Access Technology (RPMA) is available globally, and we expect our licensing agreements will enable the network to cover three quarters of the world's population in the next three years," said Ingenu's CMO, Landon Garner, who will serve on the IMC Board of Governors. "The truly global footprint of the IMC was extremely important to us."
IMC members are enterprise users and OEMs that deploy IoT solutions, with roughly 30 percent coming from North America, 30 percent from Europe, and the rest spread out globally. In terms of corporate functions, a plurality of the IMC membership comes from operations, but it also has strong representation among sales and marketing, IT and research and development. Recent surveys of the IMC's membership have shown steady and increasing interest in low-power, wide-area networking (LP-WAN) technology across 24 different vertical markets that the organization tracks.
"Clearly, our members are engaged in large-scale deployments, and these low-power solutions help them to achieve that scale," said IMC Chairman, Alexander Bufalino. The group has recently announced the formation of its Connected Leadership Committee – a focus group of IoT adopters from Fortune 500 companies that will meet quarterly to make their needs known to solutions providers on the IMC board.
Ingenu plans to roll out its Machine Network™ in over 30 US markets by the end of 2016, and to cover most of the country by the end of 2017. "Ingenu is looking forward to working with the IMC membership to expanding the reach of this already-proven technology," added Garner.
