InMobi Continues Global Expansion as it Moves Into the Russian Market
MOSCOW, April 19, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
InMobi, the world's largest independent mobile advertising network, announces the appointment of Evgeni Agronik as General Manager, Russia and CIS, and the opening of its first Russian office, as part of its latest step in its global expansion. InMobi will be speaking at The Russian Internet Forum, at the Lesnye Daly resort hotel on the Rublevo-Uspenskoye highway between 18-20th April 2012.
Evgeni Agronik joins InMobi from AlterGeo, a leading Russian mobile location-based social network, where he built a network of partnerships to drive the sale of loyalty rewards across Russia and CIS. He is well established in the region, having spent four years working for Microsoft's Moscow office signing monetisation and distribution deals for the company's Bing, Messenger and Internet Explorer products. Evgeni will be based at the InMobi Moscow office, which opens this summer and will work Russian brands and publishers, working with them to launch successful mobile campaigns.
Evgeni Agronik, General Manager, Russia and CIS at InMobi comments: "Russia is one of the biggest internet markets in Europe, with more than 50 million internet users and 27 million mobile internet users. Despite this, mobile advertising is only just starting to become accepted by marketers and advertisers across the region. With smartphone penetration growing and 3G/4G (LTE) becoming standard, we are set to see an explosive growth in mobile advertising here."
InMobi's network reaches over 5 million consumers in Russia, where it recorded a 787% increase in smartphone impressions in 2011 compared to 2010. In the fourth quarter of 2011, InMobi served over 635 million mobile ad impressions in the country, almost five times more than 2010.
Rob Jonas, VP & Managing Director, Europe and Middle East at InMobi concludes: "Russia is a key market for InMobi, with advertisers poised to take advantage of a growing opportunity. With Evgeni's wealth of commercial experience in both the online and mobile space, coupled with his knowledge of the region, he's perfectly placed to introduce Russian brands and advertisers to InMobi, continuing our global expansion."
InMobi recorded over 93.4 billion global advertising impressions in January 2012; its network now reaches over 485 million consumers in 165 countries. It has the industry's first scalable rich media solution, following the acquisition of HTML5 expert Sprout last year. InMobi provides access to best in class creative and production expertise in rich media, running on iOS and Android devices.
Evgeni Agronik will be participating in the Mobile Technologies roundtable, and Rob Jonas will give a keynote on the Future of Mobile Advertising at The Russian Internet Forum this year.
