Integreon's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, aptly named SMILE (Spread Magic through Initiative, Love and Enthusiasm), was founded in 2003 as a means for the company and its Associates to take an active role in giving back to the community. Over the past ten years, SMILE has encouraged Associates around the world to contribute to a wide range of social, educational and health initiatives. In 2012 alone, Associates volunteered more than 2,600 hours to the programme, an 800 per cent increase from the previous year and setting a company record.
The 'Joy of Giving Week,' Integreon's signature CSR event held in December 2012, was a globally coordinated, company-wide event during which Associates from its offices in India, US, UK and Philippines participated. They organised various local activities for each day of the week, working with several community development and non-governmental organizations during the holiday period to volunteer more than 1,100 hours of their time.
Benjamin Romualdez, Head of Integreon's operations in the Philippines and responsible for the company's global Corporate Social Responsibility programme, said "Integreon is proud to be named a finalist for this award. Whatever the outcome, this honour belongs to our many Associates and to our fellow nominees who each volunteer time and effort in support of their communities."
Integreon CEO Bob Gogel added, "Giving back to local communities and to society at large adds a special dimension to our work/life balance. SMILE represents an integral part of our company culture and we are constantly looking to expand and improve our efforts. Our support this year for World Environment Day and our Edu-Lync initiative, where we are using Microsoft technology to remotely teach hearing and speech challenged children, are two great examples of this continuing commitment."
The British Legal Awards are one of the most well-known awards in the legal industry and recognise the very best in the legal business community. The judging panel is comprised of prominent figures including Alasdair Douglas, Chairman of the City of London Law Society, Philip Bramwell, Group General Counsel at BAE Systems and Peter Cornell, former Managing Partner at Clifford Chance.
