International Ergonomics Association and Elsevier Announce Award Winners in Honor of Professor John Wilson

Inaugural IEA-Elsevier John Wilson Award is jointly awarded to three ergonomists who have significantly contributed to advance ergonomic design

The IEA Elsevier John Wilson Award is endorsed by the journal Applied Ergonomics and recognizes major contributions in the field of applied ergonomics to the actual design of work, systems, technologies and environment, which lead to improvements in system performance and well-being. The award is presented to honor the memory of John Wilson (1951-2013), Professor of Human Factors at the University of Nottingham and former co-Editor-in-Chief of Applied Ergonomics.
The IEA Elsevier John Wilson Award for the year 2015 is jointly awarded to three ergonomists who in the course of their careers have made outstanding and lasting contributions to the discipline at a global level, have developed innovative theoretical concepts and methods and have illustrated a systems approach to the design of complex systems, in the spirit that John Wilson intended

Peter Hancock
Peter A. Hancock, D.Sc., Ph.D. is Provost Distinguished Research Professor in the Department of Psychology and the Institute for Simulation and Training, as well as at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management Systems at the University of Central Florida.
Mitsuo Nagamachi
Mitsuo Nagamachi, Ph.D., CPE, CPEJ, is the founder of Kansei Engineering and President of the International Kansei Design Institute. He is Professor Emeritus at Hiroshima University, Hiroshima International University and Kure National Institute of Technology.
Gavriel Salvendy
Gavriel Salvendy, PhD, PE, CPE, is Professor Emeritus of Industrial Engineering at Purdue University and Chair Professor Emeritus and Former Head of the Department of Industrial Engineering at Tsinghua University, Beijing, P.R. China.
